My name is Francisco Castro Samalvide, and I’m from San Fernando, a town in the northern area of Greater Buenos Aires. I studied Philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires and later pursued postgraduate studies in Education at the University of San Andrés. I’ve been practicing Judo since I was 5 years old and Jiu Jitsu for about 12 years. Through this, I’ve encountered Eastern Philosophy and the warrior’s path as a way of life. I’m also an enthusiast of extreme sports, particularly windsurfing, which connects me with nature through play.
In my professional life, I aim to approach education from a philosophical, critical, yet reflective perspective, focusing on the student as an integral being seeking and realizing their life path. When I teach at school, my goal is to equip students with tools to be critical of the status quo, capable of developing their own ideas, consistent and grounded in knowledge. I see philosophy as a practice of thought with a high degree of rigor that applies to different areas of life, from socio-material to spiritual. It involves questioning the established norms, thinking for oneself, and freely choosing one’s life path.
