SUMMARY:

This dialogue addresses the idea that parents, both biological and spiritual, are like armor and tools that shape and guide us in our existence. Matías reflects on the duality of freeing oneself from or honoring one’s parents and argues that the key is to embrace their teachings and energies consciously. This journey toward understanding and connecting with one’s parents becomes a metaphor for how we find our true selves and unite with the Universe. Throughout the conversation, Matías emphasizes the importance of understanding that we are a combination of the influences of our parents and that by approaching them, we come closer to our own spiritual essence. This dialogue invites us to reflect on our relationships with our parents and how we can learn to honor and use their influences positively in our daily lives.

QUOTE:

“The dependency on bonds is not healed by cutting them, but by loosening them. The more you want to move away, the more tension there will be in the bonds, but the closer you get, the more they will relax.”

EXERCISES:

  1. Conscious Breathing: Since breathing is an important theme in the text, you can start with a breathing meditation. Sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Notice how the air enters and exits your body. Try to do it consciously, paying attention to each inhalation and exhalation. This will help you connect with the present moment and understand the importance of breathing in your life.

  2. Visualization of the Ocean: Imagine you are on a boat in the middle of an ocean. Visualize the waves as your thoughts and emotions. As you meditate, observe how the waves (thoughts and emotions) come and go, but you remain calm as the captain of the boat. This visualization will help you understand that you can stay calm even when facing turbulent thoughts and emotions.

  3. Honoring Your Parents: Take some time in your meditation to honor your parents, either mentally or through a symbolic ritual. You can recall the teachings and support you have received from them throughout your life. This will help you appreciate the positive influence they have had on you.

  4. Self-Acceptance and Release: During meditation, reflect on any expectations and dependencies you may have in your life. Practice self-acceptance and release patterns that no longer serve you. Visualize releasing the armor and tools of your parents mentioned in the text, allowing you to move forward with lightness and confidence.
